Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 1.5 kg chicken wings
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cooking wine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp liquid seasoning
  • 1 egg 1/3 cup flour

For Coating

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

For the garlic butter sauce

  • 100 g butter
  • 1 bulb garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp liquid seasoning

Instructions

Marinate the chicken:

  • In a large bowl, combine chicken wings, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, salt, pepper, and liquid seasoning. Mix well, cover, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the coating:

  • In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Batter the chicken:

  • After marination, add 1 egg and ⅓ cup flour to the chicken. Mix to coat evenly.

Bread the chicken:

  • Dredge each wing in the prepared flour-cornstarch mixture. Shake off excess.

Fry

  • Heat oil over medium heat. Fry wings until lightly golden
  • Remove, increase heat to medium-high, and fry again until crispy. Set aside.

Make the garlic butter sauce:

  • In a pan, melt butter. Add minced garlic and ginger; sauté for a few minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and liquid seasoning. Mix well.

Coat the wings:

  • Add the fried chicken wings to the sauce and toss until fully coated.

Serve hot.
